Hi All,
What a wonderful turnout for our meeting this week!  Great to have so many visitors as well.  I haven't heard yet how much we took in at the auction, but I'm sure it was a good haul. Thanks to Jim Cook and Lee Hennen for their fine auctioneer talents, and thanks to everyone that brought in or bid on an item.

Special thanks to Lauren Wolf for leading us in one of my favorite Buffalo Springfield songs.  It's always a pleasure when we have guest musicians to lead us.  Thank Bill Nevin for inviting Lauren.

Hope you all had a great time at this month's Rotary Happy Hour - held this past Thursday at the River Valley YMCA "Discover the Y" event.  Thanks to Chris Kost for hosting us!

Next week is our W. Adair Muralt meeting at Canterbury Park. This year we're honoring Paulette Rislund.  Please remember the cost is $15 this week (or a punch-card plus $2).  Greeters are Ron Smith, Joe Schmidt and Ron Solseth, Songmaster is golden-throat Kevin O'Brien, and Finemaster is Tammy Laurent

Our semi annual roadside clean up is being handled this spring by Shakopee school student volunteers and is being arranged through our own Rotarian and Shakopee school staff, Mary Hernandez.  Charlie Sunder will be meeting the kids and their supervisor in the next week or two to complete the task. Please thank Mary next time you see her.  And THANKS to those students for volunteering.  (Hey Charlie - you rock in your orange vest!)

Here is a link to Hannah Chase's (one of our Student of the Month), fundraising page https://www.gofundme.com/tgg3qc  Feel free to share this information with others, and direct any other potential donors to this site.  Every little bit helps!!!
Her deadline is May 18. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend.

Remember:
May 12 - meeting at Canterbury Park ($15)
May 16 - District Conference at the Mall of America - Radisson Blu - still time to register!!

We are now into the home stretch for Rotary year 2014-2015 and our campaign for the Annual Fund is reaching a conclusion for this year, and we're behind last year’s Annual Fund donations.  Remember that the donations made this year determine the funding that is available for future projects.  You can still sign up for automatic monthly deductions - it's easy.  My pocket isn't very deep, but I could afford $5/month - and it makes a difference!  Please join me in making a contribution - Service Above Self!

Get out there and Light Up Rotary!

Cheers,
Kathleen Klehr
