President's Weekly Message

Good Monday Afternoon Club Members, Families and Friends,

 

Running a bit late for the weekly message...I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was able to visit my brother and his family while they vacationed "up north" and then picked up my 3 kids and headed to Illinois to visit my mother. Lots of driving, but was surely time well spent.

 

On Wednesday, I was able to attend the City Council meeting in which the Council learned of Shakopee Rotary's commitment to fund the Doc Muralt Music Playground that can now be constructed along side the Fun For All Playground at Lion's Park. Our efforts were warmly received. The Park will begin to be constructed in late Fall.

 

Jamie Polley, Parks and Recreation Director, will be our speaker tomorrow and will bring us up to date on the many projects the City is working on, as well as plans for the future. Jamie will also talk a little about the playground construction schedule. Please plan on attending to hear all that is taking place.

 

Also there will an exciting announcement regarding the volunteer effort our Club will be participating with Canterbury Park on Thursday September 15. I will make the announcement tomorrow. Be there or be square...

 

 

Let's all plan on attending our meeting tomorrow. By the way, we all have another chance to enjoy a week of summer fun and excitement in Minnesota so lets all break into a huge smile and take advantage of it
