Top 'O the Day to Ya!

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine of today and getting out to do some celebrating of the Green! Congratulations to the Shakopee Boys Basketball team getting 3rd Place at the tournament yesterday! Great win over Cretin-Durham Hall! And the fact Hopkins did not win 1st place was at least some revenge, so good work to Lakeville North! Sorry for the editorializing, just had to do it. Shako deserved that win and we all know it!

Last week we had a wonderful history lesson from a local, Dale Swanson who wrote a book on some unknown aspects of history of the Sioux uprising in the Minnesota River Valley. Thanks to Chris Kost for bringing him to our meeting, I think many found the information very enlightening. We also recognized our Tokata student of the month for February, Dantrell Harris and his mentor, Mr. Ryan the Math teacher.  Thanks to Nell Bury for bringing this student to our meeting and his guest. Always wonderful to recognize our youth and their good work.

This week I am excited to tell you that Tim Whitcomb will be bringing Jack Tomczak, from Twin Cities Talk Radio to speak to you. The title of his presentation, "Up and At 'em" sounds like it will be motivating and interesting. We are all looking forward to hearing Jack speak, so be and sure and get this on your calendar and come on out and hear him speak.  You will be greeted again this week by the team of Hennen, Eckart and Esposito. They are always happy to take your money. This week is "Double Dustin" week as Mr. Campion will be not only the Finemaster,  but Songmaster too! WOW! Now that's dedication! Looking forward to seeing Dustin in both roles this week.

REMINDERS!

BRING YOUR PLASTIC JELLY JARS! We are now collecting jelly jars for summer youth programs for District 5950 to distribute. The box will be available at each meeting all this month and next. Thanks Linda Plum for helping to coordinate this effort.

DOLCE VITA WINE TASTING! - Wed. March 19  5-7 PM, $15 a person. Please sign up or RSVP to me if you can make it out and bring a guest to our second annual wine tasting and social with Chaska Rotary Club. We will have food and wine and a sharing of Rotarian freiendship. Please feel free to bring a friend, business associate, family member or potential Rotarian member too. We are hoping for a great turnout,  and I know Chaska is looking forward to it as well. Please mark it on your calendars for this week.

BOOK SALE SIGNUPS! - Don't forget to sign up at the meeting to help out at book sorting and for the sale which is April 4,5,6 and 12 this year. We need all hands to help. Keep up the collections too! See Jeff Tate if you need bins for collection.

In Peace and Service,
