Rotary Weekly Updates
Hi All,
Break out the sweatshirts and sweaters, fall has arrived. It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend; I hope you get a chance to get outside and enjoy some sunshine & cool breezes.
What fun to see Jack Cole's smiling face again - you were missed! David Esposito's master style was a kick, and WOW - Dave Ekhart's astronomical knowledge blew me away! Libby and Tony staffed the greeter's table (and Jason Marschall, didn't I see you welcoming people too!), and I heartily appreciate your willingness to follow me in song.
Couple things:
- Please join me at the Rotary Fall Training on Friday, September 26. The Heritage center is beautiful and I can guarantee plenty of coffee and great conversations. Please see the flyer below.
- Please introduce yourself and welcome our new foreign exchange student from Bogota, Columbia - Angelina Cristina Ortiz, who is staying with the Schleif Family.
- Don't forget to use your "Free Lunch" cards - invite colleagues, business leaders...to attend a meeting
We welcomed District Governor Jim Nelson this past Tuesday. It was a pleasure to hear of his travels and personal connections to Rotary projects in Honduras and beyond. I echo his sentiments and encouragement to support the Rotary Foundation. FYI: Over half of our club did not contribute last year. Please...consider making a contribution this year - every dollar counts!
Next week we welcome Tom Pitschneider presenting "Tips and Tidbits from Shakopee's Fire Marshall" - a burning topic (sorry, couldn't help it - must be channeling Harold). Alan Spillers, Charlie Sunder and Kevin Studnicka will be the smiling faces at the greeters table, Tony Spagnolo will try to surgically remove a few bucks from your wallets, and Mark McNeill returns to regale us with his golden throat and ringing guitar.
Cheers,
Kathleen Klehr - President
