President's Weekly Message
Dear Shakopee Rotary Club Members and Friend,
Well, with 8 days under my belt as Shakopee Rotary President, things are starting to fall into place. Now I just have to figure out where that place is ...seriously, I am slowly adjusting to the position of leading our Club in a positive direction.
I stated during Tuesday's meeting, one of the first things that I would like to do is meet with each and every member of our Club. i called it "Coffee with Crooks", a bit corny, but it is something to catch your attention. I have already started meeting with a few members and will concentrate on the Committee Chairs first and then reach out with emails, hoping to set times that will be convenient to everyone. I will be able to meet early in the morning, late in the afternoon, into the evening and over lunch. I will make myself available to you, as each of you are the most important part of our Club. Please let me know if you would like to meet before i would send you an email. My goal is to meet with everyone in the next 2 months.
Also last week, we enjoyed a informative presentation from Mary Spiedel of the Good Samaritan Society. We learned about the choices to be made in considering rehabilitation facilities after a loved one's illness or injury. It made me want to consult an insurance professional. There may be someone in our Club to answer those questions...
Next Tuesday's September 8 meeting will feature presentations from some of our own. They will informing us with just some of opportunities we have with our Club. Sheila McNeill will educate us on our very successful STRIVE Program, to be followed by Deb Erickson, our Membership Chair, on the great work the Committee is accomplishing.
For the Meeting:
Our Song Master will be one our newest members, Sarah Howe
Our Fine Master will be one of our oldest members, Chuck Berg
Our Greeter's Table will be John Canny, Dustin Campion and the ever lovely Jim Cook
I am excited and honored to meet and learn from each of you in the very near future. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Have a Great Labor Day Weekend,
John
