President's Weekly Message

Happy Friday,

 

And what a Friday it is!. Perfect weather leading into another summer weekend. I hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy it with family and friends. On Sunday, we have been invited to spend the day on Minnetonka and plan on having a wonderful time.

 

But, first of all, do you have plans to attend the Scott County Fair? Jerry Kucera did a great job of motivating the Club into attending  and having each of us revisit  a bit of our childhood. Take someone along and patronize a great local event. Jerry and his Scott County Fair Board do a fantastic job of having so many things to do and participate in. Spend a few hours in Jordan at the Fair and I bet you will be glad that you did.

 

Today Chuck Berg and myself, met with Jamie Polley and Councilor Mike Luce on the planning of the Doc Adair Rotary Music Park that will be built in conjunction with the Fun For All Playground at Lion's Park this Fall. What a perfect opportunity for our Club. I will be attending the City Council meeting next week as the Music Park is introduced to the City of Shakopee. Our Club's support for the project is absolutely phenomenal. As always, I am very proud of us as Rotarians. By the way, Jamie is our speaker at the August 9 meeting and she will fill us in on all the details.

 

Tuesday's speaker is someone we are all familiar with, Scott County Attorney Ron Hochevar. Ron will talk about the new Scott County Drug Court. I read about this unique program in the Star Tribune and Shakopee Valley News. Please attend to hear it straight from the person who has championed its development.
