Happy Monday Morning,

The sun is shining, there is a cool breeze, rain is out of the forecast, the Vikings won and its Monday. How could anything be better? Seems as if I have been away from our Club for a long time and my thanks go to Barb for filling in,  in my absence. I was able to spend 6 days up north for a "guys only trip", then flew to San Antonio for business, one day at the office and then back north to clean up after the "guys only trip"...

It sounds as if the fundraiser we had at Canterbury was a success. The people I talked to said it was fun and the time went quick. We raised a good chuck of money for the operation of our Club. Great work everybody. Can't wait to hear more stories. Think it may be safe today that we should set up two of these events next racing season. Huge thanks to Canterbury Park for the opportunity for Rotary to have such fun and to fundraise for our Club.

This week we have Melissa Gaten, Executive Director for St. Mary's Health Clinic, speaking.  SMHC is part of the St. Francis campus and provides free medical care, education and outreach to low income families and the uninsured. Please plan on attending and make Melissa feel welcomed by our Club.

Tomorrow's Meeting:
Song Master - John Crooks
Fine Master - Jody Herrmann
Greeter's Table - Lorri Helkamp, Joe Helkamp and Chuck Berg

The Shakopee Rotary Club is strong, financially stable and effective in meeting the needs of our community. Together we make differences in peoples lives and attitudes. We lead by example, take pride in our mission and continue to grow. Pat yourselves on the back for all that each one of you do in making Rotarians as important today as we were yesterday and how we will be in the future. I hope everyone has a great Monday...why not be optimistic, it's easy to be positive.

Regards,
John
