President's Weekly Message for Meeting of Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013

Hello to all and Happy Halloween!

Last week we were happy to welcome Amy McGarness from the River Vallley Theater Company. She gave us a very informative history and update on the theater company. We auctioned tickets off to their current production, "Blithe Spirit" being shown this weekend and next weekend.  We are truly lucky to have such a fine theater production group within out community and I would urge you to get out and see a play when you can.

Also, a note of thanks to Chuck Berg for donating yet another laptop to the club,  after yours truly managed to drop the previously donated laptop from Chuck in the parking lot of Dangerfield's! Thankfully,  we have a computer geek like Chuck to rescue us in our technical needs dept. We are grateful to him for all he has given in time and talent to our club.  Also, we want to wish Barb Brekke safe travels as she walks across Spain for the next 30 plus days in her search for spirituality and her life's goals. We can't wait to hear her stories and see her pictures upon her return.

We were happy to see the smiling face of Bill Runge at our last meeting,  but saddened to hear that Jack Cole had been hospitalized recently. He is back home now and recuperating and the Sunshine committee will be paying a visit soon to let him know we miss his smiling face around the table. Please remember Jack in your thoughts and prayers.  We will have as speaker this week Daniel Christianson. He will be speaking to us on Credit Card Protection. According to Chuck Berg, he said last week his surest form of protection is to "tear up his wife's credit card!" Well, lets hope we can all learn other less drastic ways of protecting the plastic we all carry in our wallets. We will have the one and only musical duo of McNeill and Shukle as our Songmaster this week.  Our fine President-elect, Kathy Klehr will be our Finemaster.  The Greeter Table will have Joe Vaughan at the helm and whomever else Joe Schmidt gets to fill in this week to help out.
