Shakopee Rotary contributed to a District Grant in Uganda for a project that brought Headlamps and Preeclampsia posters to 131 hospitals in the North and Ease side of Uganda. The supplies helped organization Birth with Dignity to train and discuss headlamps for postpartum hemorrhage management, provide posters for preeclampsia teaching of mothers, give protocols for bereavement care, and safe sleep teaching cards to decrease stillbirths.

The recipients of the supplies applauded, thanked staff numerous times and went back to their towns and villages confident that fewer mothers would die because of the supplies, and bereavement care after stillbirth would improve because of training, teaching sheets and protocols.

This is an example of Rotary clubs coming together with funding to make this possible. Visit birthwithdignity.org for more information.
